This is gonna be a short review because I can sum up my thoughts on this film with bullet-points.
The plot was weak and focussed too much on characters that were new to the series but acted like they were in it a lot longer.
The characters sucked, I didn't care for any of them, I felt nothing when someone died or got hurt. The only half-way decent one was Bobby and that's only because we spent enough time with him to just grow to bare him.
Hoffman was still a bland asshole and his near superhuman ability to kill an entire police force was ridiculous.
The traps was over-extravagant and mostly useless to the
plot. There was no reason for the Public trap or the Garage trap, it was all just wasted time and overly gory.
The biggest flaw this film had was that I just didn't care. I didn't care about the characters, I didn't care about the plot, I didn't care about anything. This is easily the worst in the franchise and a pathetic ending to the series.
The only good thing I can say about this film is the ending. I'm glad they brought Lawrence back from the first film and I like even more that he's become the true accomplice to Jigsaw. After Amanda and Hoffman turned out to be useless, it's a great downer note to see that Jigsaw's message actually does work and on the least likely person.
Oh and seeing asshole Hoffman get his comeuppance - with one of the better uses of the Hello Zepp theme - in a nice tie to the first film was a good touch.
Overall, this isn't a good film. I'd say I hated it but I didn't care about it enough to even gather an emotion towards it. It's a bad film, it's a bad ending to the series and it's so obvious that they ran out of ideas. Avoid this one.
